MOSES BEN SHEM TOV DE LEON

(1250-1305)
   Spanish kabbalist. He lived in Guadalajara and, from 1290 in Avila. He wrote some 20 kabbalstic works and is known for his revelation of the Zohar: according to kabbalistic tradition, the book (attributed to Simeon ben Yohai) was sent by Nahmanides from Palestine to Spain, where it reached Moses ben Shem Tov, who made it known.
