RABBI BINYAMIN (HATALMI, YEHOSUA; RADLERFELDMAN, YEHOSHUA)

(1880-1957)

   Israeli journalist. He was born in Zborov, Galicia, and went to London in 1906. The following year he travelled to Palestine, where he worked as a labourer, and later served as secretary of Herzila high school in Tel Aviv. In 1910 he moved to Jerusalem, where he taught high school. After World War I he was active in the Mizrahi party, and edited the national monthly Ha-Hed (1926-53). He was a founder (in 1926) of Berit Shalom, a society that advocated a binational state for Jews and Arabs. He published numerous books, articles and essays.
