TAL (GRÜNTHAL), YOSEPH

(b. 1910)
   Israeli composer and teacher. He was born in Pinne, in the Poznah district. He moved to Palestine and in 1937 joined the faculty of the Academy of Music in Jerusalem. Later he became head of the department of musicology at the Hebrew University. Many of his compositions are based on biblical motifs and litur-gical poetry.
