MOSES BEN ISAAC DI RIETI (RIETI, MOSES OF)
(1388-c. 1460)
Italian physician, philosopher and poet. He worked as a physician at Rieti until 1422, and then lived in Perugia, Narni, Fabriano, and Rome, where he was a rabbi and physician to Pope Pius II. His Mikdash Me'at is a moral and philosophical poem in terza rima; in contains a vision of Paradise, and an account of Jewish scholars down to his own time. He also wrote medical and other philo-sophical studies.
